Dive into the expansive heart of Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga has a deep and inherent potential to heal the physical and mental body on many levels. This modality can be particularly useful for aging bodies & injury management. By understanding the principles and application expressed in this course, you will be able to access these rich practices like never before.

In this course you will dive into the ancient origins of Yin; understand modern human anatomy and its variations; investigate Fascia and why it is important; learn how, when and why to practice the various postures; and how to use the various props to support or enrich your practice.

Whether you wish to teach, are already a yoga teacher wanting to go deeper, or someone who simply wants to expand their own practice, this course is for you.

Delivered by Mark Pheely, one of Australia’s leading Yin Teachers and Teacher Trainers, this course is a wonderful blend of some live online learning, two weekends in studio at Salt Yoga, followed by a 3 night immersive retreat on beautiful Kangaroo Island.

What is Yin Yoga?

This is a truly delicious practice designed to release tension in the body and mind by settling into long, deep and passive postures.

Yin Yoga targets the body’s deep connective tissue (fascia) including ligaments, tendons, bones and joints. This practice increases overall health and wellbeing by maintaining or increasing range of motion, releasing tension and energy blockages, improving circulation and repairing damaged tissue.

It is the perfect and essential balance to our very active lifestyles (Yang) and opens pathways for you to look inward and find a new dimension of depth inside, re-balancing the body’s energy.

This incredible 100 Hr Yin Yoga teacher training will cover:

  • HISTORY AND EMERGENCE OF YIN YOGA

  • THE 8 LIMB PATH OF YOGA

  • WHAT IS FASCIA AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HEALTH

  • YIN POSTURES AND THEIR VARIABLES

  • THE USE OF YOGA PROPS

  • VARIABLE ANATOMY AND HOW TO TAILOR POSTURES

  • THERAPEUTIC ASPECTS OF THE PRACTICE

  • TEACHING ETIQUETTE

  • INTRO TO THE INTERPLAY OF MEDITATION & YIN YOGA

Held live online to cover some theory, followed by two immersive weekends in the studio to dive into practice, then coalescing into a beautifully held 3 night retreat on Kangaroo Island to integrate it all. It's a journey into the space of stillness, and the healing that resides there.
